Kellogg Conference Center, Gallaudet University
November 1-3, 2007

ASLRT Conference mission statement

The mission of the Center for ASL/English Bilingual Education and Research (CAEBER) American Sign Language Round Table (ASLRT) conference is to provide a national forum for sharing, networking and discussion among ASL professionals working with deaf and hard-of-hearing learners in K-12 ASL/English bilingual settings. The ASLRT addresses best practices and issues related to ASL teaching, ASL curriculum, and ASL instructional language assessment.

2007 ASLRT Conference Program

This year’s conference program focuses mainly on defining, developing, and documenting key elements that characterize the role of ASL professionals within K-12 ASL/English bilingual settings. All presentations are designed to prepare conference participants for structured roundtable discussion sessions following the presentations. The conference schedule also includes informal small-group professional development discussions and other networking opportunities.

Conference Participants

The ASLRT Conference is designed for ASL professionals such as ASL specialists, ASL/English bilingual specialists, ASL (Language Arts) teachers, ASL curriculum coordinators, linguists and ASL researchers working in K-12 educational settings.
